Recent Haps. Yes, I said "haps".

It took me a while to get on the pinterest bandwagon, but I did it! I signed up a few months ago and have become an addict. Who is the little witch who introduced me to this?!

Anyways, if you have one, leave me  your link so I can follow you.

You can find me HERE. :)

Caption of my boards.

Does anybody else color coordinate their board covers? I am such a freak when it comes to certain things, it's rediculous. I find that much of the time I am OCD about things that don't matter. I wish I was OCD about my daughter's bedroom floor being picked up, or the dishes being done immediately following dinner. Instead, I can't handle the volume "level" in the car to be set at an uneven number. Seriously, if you are going to up the volume to 21, just make it an even 20!
Anyyyyways.

The movers are coming on FRIDAY! Ahhh! Can't wait! It's going to be a crazy life for a while, though! I can deal. We are moving to Michigan, y'all. *squeeee* I hate Michigan winters but I am definitely missing Lake Michigan, local brews, vegan restaurants, and family. We have never lived in our hometown as a married couple, and I can imagine it must be so nice to have that support of family around. I'm seeing regularly scheduled date nights in our future! I wonder what that's like...

When we get to Michigan, James will be doing full time school. He has already been to school for computer science, and long story short - years later, many different life paths, and because of the pursuit of happiness he is getting a new degree in Biometric Security (artificial intelligence stuff). They will be hard, intense classes, and I am sure it will be stressful for our whole family. I know we can do it and I am ready to support him all the way through! This will be great for our future and his career, so I am excited at what will unfold in the next few years!

I already know about the being poor part... trust me, I know! Ha ha -- but if any of you have a spouse or are in school yourself, let me know if you have any tips/advice for me about what to expect.

Off to get my buns into cleaning mode!...

Oops. I peed myself.

I peed myself while running on the treadmill yesterday. I’m not ashamed. It happens to the best of us mothers who didn’t do enough kegels during pregnancy. If you’re a long time reader, you know I like to talk about bodily functions. This may make me an abomination to my fellow Christian mom bloggers, but somebody’s gotta take on the task. None of you come here because you want to read about a perfect wife, christian, mother. What fun would that be? You’re not fooling anybody Mrs. I-Really-Do-Look-This-Good-Everytime-I-Cook.

Anyways, back to pee…

This usually happens to me during certain days of my cycle. Anyone else? I know I need to do more kegels, but I never remember to do them throughout the day.

I set out to find a solution.

Ladies, I give you  the Kegel Muscle Exerciser App for your smart phone!

kegel

I found this last night while browsing different apps. Cool, right?

Waiting at a red light? Kegel Muscle Exerciser.
Watching TV? Kegel Muscle Exerciser.
Stretching post workout? Kegel Muscle Exerciser.
Sitting in church? Kegel Muscle Exerciser.
(Okay, maybe don’t open the app during that last one.)

If you’re like me, it helps to have something telling me what to do in order to motivate me.
With this app, you can move from beginner to advanced as you get stronger.

What has helped you remember to do your exercise, if at all? I hope this helps, because it really is an annoying problem and inhibits mothers everywhere from exercising and sneezing in public.

Here’s to not peeing while we run, jump, laugh, and can't make it to the bathroom quite in time.

Garlic Parmesan Kale Chips Recipe

kale03

Ingredients:

- 1 bunch kale chips
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- 3 close garlic
- salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Clean/rinse off kale chips & preheat oven to 275 degrees.

2. Cut/tear off leaves from “ribs”.

3. Combine olive oil, 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese, garlic and salt and pepper in a large bowl.

4. Add kale to bowl and toss until coated with mixture.

5. Lay kale on a baking sheet. Cook for approximately 20 minutes, turning the leaves halfway through. Sprinkle remaining parmesan cheese when it comes out of the oven.

Enjoy! Great alternative to popcorn on family movie night. Kids love these!

I-Did-It-Myself Yarn Wreath

2013_03_24_0146

2013_03_24_0170

Wrapped in yarn, hand painted letter, hand crafted flowers from felt, and best of all – I made it!

I’ve never been very crafty, but I love wreaths and can never afford them. Buying these from someone else can cost $40-$50, so I decided to face the challenge of doing it myself!. (Maybe not challenging to some of you, but I'm the girl who debunked the myth that Art Class is an easy A.) I actually made this one for a friend as a thank you gift.

Total cost: $12
Not bad, right? Thinking of making a nautical one next! I’m picturing salmon, navy and turquoise as my front door’s next outfit.
